FlipHTML5, Issuu, and Calameo are all popular digital publishing platforms that allow you to create, publish and distribute interactive publications. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses, so let’s see how they compare.
FlipHTML5
FlipHTML5 is a HTML5 flipbook maker that allows you to create interactive ebooks. It’s easy to use and has a wide range of features, including the ability to add audio, video, and social media buttons.
Pros:

- offline viewing on tablets and phones
- preview by device before publish
Cons:
- readers see ads and watermark
- daily limit on publication uploads
- maximum 7 days of statistics
Issuu
Issuu is a digital publishing platform that allows you to create, publish and share interactive PDFs. It’s one of the most popular digital publishing platforms, and it offers a wide range of features, including the ability to embed videos, images, and social media buttons.
Pros:
- popular platform
- large subscriber community
- create articles to drive traffic to publication
Cons:
- downloading is not available
- no statistics available
- 5 publication limit
Calameo
Calameo is a digital publishing platform you may not have heard of. It shares similar features to the previous two, but a little more on their free plan.
Pros:
- a huge 15GB of storage
- some basic statistics
- unlimited publications
Cons:
- downloading is not available
- readers cannot subscribe
- no scheduling of publishing ahead of time

So, which platform is right for you?
For my money, Calameo comes out on top for the wide range of what you can do to get started for free: unlimited publications, basic statistics and multi-language support.
