Tea-infused balancing act
My working day tends to be a bit of chaos, a bit of calm and everything in between. As a working mum getting the kids out the door and getting to the office can be, let’s say, an interesting process! Once at work it’s very much about taking the mum hat off and getting stuck into a big day with (hopefully) little distraction.
Over the past year I’ve had to make the very clear distinction between “family” time and “work” time, and it’s made such a huge difference in my own mental state as well as the quality time I spend present with my loved ones.
I can’t get by without my morning ritual “nice and strong” cup of tea because it helps me stop and think about what lies ahead and ensures I have my to-do list at the ready as soon as that cup empties.
The best thing about it is the pause after the craziness and it really does set me up for the day. While I do try and limit my caffeine intake as a non-coffee drinker in the morning I cannot do without it.
There is NOOOO way I would give it up!
