In the company of great stories
My working day tends to be a string of calls and emails until around 10am when I stop and switch on for BBC’s Radio4 Woman’s Hour. This is when I take a little break, make a pot of coffee and plan for the day.
So I can’t get by without my radio because it relaxes and focuses me. It’s great company when you’re in a small team. The topics are so very varied and eclectic, I literally stop what I am doing and a part of my brain tunes in to the programme; the other part gets organised for work 🙂
The best thing about it is, while I could listen to this (and other programmes) on my lap top anytime and on-demand, I’d rather have the structure and consistency of a set time to tune in. Perhaps that says something about me. Or maybe I’m just old fashioned in a way.
That dusty, shiny black box that sits on my kitchen worktop gets me through the day and I wouldn’t be without it for the world.
