Yarning with artificial intelligence
My working day tends to be quite varied! One moment I’m knitting and in the next moment I might be designing a pattern or wrapping and posting out my orders. So I can’t get by without my tablet because it organises me.
I always know when I’ve sold an item or when a customer has sent me a message and I can even note down the patterns I’m designing on the fly.
The best thing about it is the ‘Sell on Etsy’ app I downloaded. I use it all the time. It means I can check my shop stats and traffic sources, as well as respond instantly to my customers on the go and my little knitting business thinks me accessible and reliable for using it.
I wouldn’t give it up for the biggest yarn stash in history! Well, maybe not.
Elke Morice-Atkinson is Founder of TheCraftyElks in Southsea, UK. TheCraftyElks was opened online on Etsy in 2012, selling vintage inspired hand knitted hot water bottle covers. All of TheCraftyElks’ hot water bottle covers are individual and Elke designs and hand knits every stitch in every single cover. In 2014 Elke expanded her range and included mini and midi sized covers and bottles. Elke’s mini-bottles were recently featured the The Independent’s Indy Best ‘10 best stocking fillers under £20‘. Coming in at number 5, Elke’s mini covers were described as being ‘small enough to fit in a stocking but big enough to keep the recipient seriously cosy’. Follow her @TheCraftyElks
